Shipping and Returns

DOMESTIC SHIPPING

Silk Veda offers shipping across India through reliable courier service. The courier charges will be borne by the customer. All the orders will be processed within 5-7 business days from the date of order. Shipping timelines may be intimated to the customer in advance.

  • All our products are packed in secure tamper proof packaging. If you find that the package is tampered with please do not accept delivery of the same from the carrier. If the customer accepts delivery, it will be deemed that the product arrived in a tamper proof condition.

  • All products ordered in one cart will be shipped to one shipping address. If there is a requirement for the products to be shipped to more than one shipping address then please create separate orders in separate carts for each address.

  • The products may or may not be insured by Silk Veda against loss or theft from date & point of dispatch to date & point of delivery at no additional cost to the customer.

  • Octroi & Entry tax if applicable as per the local laws in the delivery location shall be borne by the customer.

A preorder saree will take typically around 30-45 days to dispatch as these would be woven on confirmation of the order. We will notify you if there is any changes in the ETA via Instagram, email, WhatsApp/website.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

  • International shipping charges would generally cost about Rs 2600/kg and Rs 1500 for every additional individual saree added.

  • Shipping charges are payable by customers for shipping to locations outside India as per the above shipping rates.

  • International orders are normally processed within 10 - 15 business days from the date of orders.

  • Shipping timelines will be intimated to the customer in advance.

  • All our products are packed in secure tamper proof packaging. If you find that the package is tampered with please do not accept delivery of the same from the carrier. If the customer accepts delivery, it will be deemed that the product arrived in a tamper proof condition.

  • Local Taxes, Duty & Customs should be borne by the customer. 

  • We work with only renowned courier service providers and if in rare possibility of case of loss of parcel in specific areas/country, we are not responsible for it.

Return & Exchange Policy

Domestic Orders

 

We at Silk Veda, run each order through multiple rounds of quality check for any damages, before dispatch. Furthermore, every single order packing will be continuously video recorded.

1. Damage, Defective or Wrong Product Delivered

  • If the product you received is damaged, defective, or not the item you ordered, please notify us immediately within 24 hours of delivery with clear photos/videos as proof.

  • In such cases, Silk Veda will bear all courier charges for return/replacement if the buyer has paid for the shipping. Onward & Return logistic cost of Rs. 200/- for each item will be charged on free shipping orders.

  • You will be entitled to either:
    ✅ A free replacement (subject to stock availability)
    ✅ Or a 100% refund (excluding payment gateway charges)

  • Refunds will be processed back to your original payment method within 7–10 working days.

2. Silk Veda initiated refunds

  • In the rare event that Silk Veda is unable to fulfill your order (for example, stock unavailability or dispatch issues), you will receive a 100% refund with no deductions.

3.Order Cancellation (Before Dispatch)

  • If you request a cancellation before your order is dispatched, we will process the refund after deducting payment gateway charges (generally 10% of the order value).

  • These charges are levied by the payment provider (RazorPay/PayU/CashFree/Bank/Card Networks) and are non-refundable to us.

  • The balance amount will be refunded to your original payment method within 7 - 10 working days (subject to your bank/payment provider timelines).

4. Customer-Initiated Return / Exchange (No Damage Case)

  • If you wish to return or exchange a product without any defect or damage, you may do so within 2 days of delivery.

  • Customer has to raise a return request by sending an email to silkveda@gmail.com with the order details & the return reason. Our support team will analyze the return request and approve the same.

  • The products must be returned in it's original condition, unaltered and unused. The price tag ( and the silk mark tag if applicable ) has to be present. The saree folding has to be intact.

  • In such cases, the customer will bear both the return courier charges and the forward courier charges (in case of exchange).

  • Additionally, 10% of the product value will be deducted towards Shopify & payment gateway charges, as these are non-refundable costs incurred during your original purchase.

  • The balance refund will be processed once the product is received back in original condition with all tags and packaging intact.

  • The refund might take 7 to 10 working days to credit from the date of initiation.

International Orders

We do not accept returns for orders from countries outside India

At Silk Veda, we take pride in delivering authentic products crafted with precision and care. To ensure a smooth and fair experience for all our customers, we kindly ask you to review the following guidelines regarding returns and exchanges

1. Mandatory Parcel Opening Video:
For any return or damage-related claim, it is essential to record an unedited video while unboxing your parcel. This video serves as proof in the event of any discrepancies and is crucial for processing your request swiftly.

2. Handloom Saree Attributes:
Please note that minor irregularities such as thread pullings, small weaving knots, slight thread jumpings, and loom marks are natural characteristics of sarees. These are not defects but are celebrated as part of the authenticity and beauty of handwoven fabrics.

3. Reporting Damages:
If you receive a saree with genuine damage (excluding the handloom traits mentioned above), kindly notify us immediately, within 24 hours of delivery. The damage must be clearly visible in your parcel opening video for the claim to be valid. Claims without a proper video will not be entertained.

​

4. Return Condition:
Should a return be approved, the saree must be carefully folded and packed to avoid any creasing or damage during transit. Returns that are improperly folded or mishandled may be rejected and sent back to the customer.

5. Exchange Process:
Once we receive your returned saree in good condition, we will promptly process the exchange as per your request. Please note that the exchange will only be initiated after a thorough quality check of the returned item.

6. Colour Disclaimer:
While we strive to display sarees as accurately as possible, there may be slight color variations (5-10%) due to digital photography and individual screen settings. Returns or exchanges for minor color differences will not be accepted.
